They have a good model but having a drive through is beyond retarded for where they are at in development

You must have gone to the Cedarcrest location. The voice box and menu is like 1/4 mile away in the front of the parking lot.

Last time I went about 18 months ago, there were no prices on menu, just "Market Price." WTF? I turned around and walked out and haven't been back. Used to go about 2 × per month.

Holy shite are the prices on their website current? $20 for all large poboys, without the combo?

Market Price is their excuse for jacking up the prices to ridiculous levels. I really like Poboy Express but only go like twice a year now because of that.

Their large double cheeseburger poboy is $37.99. It is 8 patties so basically enough to feed a family.

It's crazy. You can walk across the street from the one on Perkins to Phil's - arguably a nicer and probably cleaner place - and get a whole poboy with fries for ~$7 less. (This is not a shill for Phil's, just chose it because of distance. Insert any place with poboys in its place and probably still true.)

Phils:
Shrimp - $12.99
Oyster - $21.99 (PBE is Market Price, so presumably the $20 price they charge for everything else doesn't apply to oyster)
Catfish - $12.99
RB - $13.99

I went a few weeks ago when I was in town and ordered the large shrimp poboy. It was $20+ which was a shock but was also able to make two meals out of it. Still not cheap.

That drive thru is pretty funny.

Look out for bingomingonameo... I started a poboy express prices thread a while back and he felt prices were fair and attacked anyone who felt otherwise

It is expensive but my wife and I just split a large. It’s so much food.

I get this, and it's a valid point if you're with a family and/or trying to turn a meal into numerous meals. But restaurants who don't have normal sized portions at normal prices as an option for people solo are a pet peeve of mine.

And I don't want a soggy half eaten poboy for a second meal later. I just wanna pay <$15 and eat it once.

Oh I’m not defending the $37.99 price or the 8 patties. I think it’s ridiculous. There must be people out there ordering it though.
