BR Metro Council comment form

If the metro council approves this then they come up with a fee and stick it on your utility bill like garbage collection. No estimate on the amount or anything. They havent even "studied" it.

To create a Stormwater Public Utility District through the use of an Intergovernmental
Local Services Agreement for the operation of the City and Parish’s Municipal
Separate Stormwater Sewer System so as to meet state and federal requirements and
provide for the construction and acquisition of additions, improvements and
extensions to the system as well as maintenance, financing and operation of the
system. By Environmental Services Director and Parish Attorney's Office.

We are one of the poorest states and highest taxed (overall). Be a good steward of the public fisc and get rid of the BS programs.

I already commented my disapproval in a thread the other day. Can someone submit that thread to the council please?

No plan, just a new tax.

The truth is Broome has received millions of federal dollars provided for storm relief and she has spent very little of it. She wants to get this tax done to free up general fund dollars normally spent on drainage to use for her friends and her pet programs.

Voters just passed a tax for a new mental health facility. It’s tanking. CATS just got a tax renewal. CATS is crumbling.
BREC and the Library have big surpluses. Sewerage taxes steadily go up.

We pay enough now, we don’t need to be taxed anymore.

And you wonder why BR is so trashy…do you even realize what a difference this would make for our litter problem? And property values, etc.?

Here’s a little knowledge drop for you.

This would be nice if the majority of taxpayer dollars wasn’t being grifted

I can say with 95% certainty that EBR will be no better if this is passed

They told if we passed a tax to help the mentally ill, it would help the community. Well the mental health unit we built is losing millions and is laying off people and closing down beds.

They told us we needed better mass transit for the good of the community. Well the CATS is being sued by the IRS for not paying taxes. It’s crumbling.

They said our old people needed help. We passed a big tax for them and the COA leaders are buying buildings and spending our dollars lije there’s no tomorrow.

We pay enough taxes now to have good drainage. In fact the mayor is sitting in millions of federal dollars now but she is stuck analyzing what yo go.
