Zip lines in Costa Rica?

This. He can see the beaches and then do a bunch of adventure stuff(ziplines, white water rafting, seeing volcanoes, atv tours, etc)

And he can see monkeys, lots of monkeys by the coastal areas.

Atlantis is pricey but I went around the age of 13 and had a blast.

We went for 10 days for our honeymoon in March

Spent the first night and the last night in San Jose(we flew into/out of there)

2 nights Monteverde....rainforests way up in the mountains and some of the highest ziplines in the country. If you are gonna zipline, this is the place to do it.

2 nights Arenal area...volcano area...went rappelling waterfalls here and took a white water rafting tour (had to ride a bus for 3 hours to Rio Pacuare for this...best place to white water raft in CR though)

3 nights Manual Antonio...gorgeous beach area here. Manual Antonio natural park is cool and where we saw many, many monkeys.

We did the trip through these guys. We booked our airfare and they made us a trip with all the places we wanted to go. Booked all our transportation and tours and hotels for us. We literally stepped off the plane and everything was already taken care of for us. Highly recommend them.

Look real hard into Costa Rica before going. The Mexican cartels are gaining a lot of ground down there right now.

FWIW I wouldn't go to Costa Rica right now and I'd blend in

Thanks

CR seemed like a very kid friendly place as well. We saw lots of families there. And I know he can still zipline and do all the tours...I think the cutoff is 12

I was there last March and I felt safe. You just have to remember it is a third world country and be a smart tourist. Don't wear anything flashy to attract attention to yourself. Don't carry your actual passport unless you have to(traveling in between places..otherwise only carry a copy with you and store original in room safe...passport theft is big there). Don't go wandering the streets of San Jose by yourself. Take shared shuttles or arrange for other transportation instead of renting a car yourself.

Costa Rica was awesome. Zip lines through the rainforest were really cool and there are some beautiful beaches.

St. Kitts & Nevis has always intrigued me. Not sure how the beaches are (sure they're awesome) but it's a cool tropical getaway.

Last time we left the fam was for Playa del Carmen. He liked it but is ready for blue water fishing and a once in his lifetime experience.

Thanks again OT- I know you ballers can set the bar pretty high

Yea, I probably didn't word that very well. It's just any time I hear about Mexican cartels gaining ground somewhere, I take caution. Just don't wing it and you'll be ok.

Yeah I researched the hell out of Costa Rica. Went to the CDC website to see recommended vaccines(and got them). Bought a couple travel books. Researched proper dress for every place we went to, proper etiquette, tipping, what to pack, etc. Scoured tripadvisor reviews for every hotel and tour group we considered before finalizing our itinerary. Read on the crime reports for the country for the last couple years(petty theft is the big crime there with San Jose being the more dangerous city).

Anytime I go out of the country I research like that. Call me crazy, but I like being prepared

K the Costa Rica trip sounds like a winner so far. Honestly Australia would work for him but I am not flying 18 hours for a short trip. Any recommend places to stay with a younger kid - nurse?

If Costa Rica doesn't pan out for, look into Isabela, Puerto Rico. It's about 70 miles west of San Juan and beautiful
