Biased is the correct term. Every human being has a bias towards their race, their religion, their friends.

Saying everyone is racist is wrong but we all tend to look after our own core group and want better for our friends, families.

Pretty straight forward psychology. People confuse bias with racist. They aren't remotely the same.

I think the best way is too provide equal access to opportunities and information regarding jobs, then let the businesses themselves make a decision on who to hire based on skill or merit. I would personally recommend removing race and gender ENTIRELY off of job applications.

Wouldn't that be nice. And quite the fresh take I must admit from a non-conservative.

However, it will never happen. Do you know why race and gender questions exist???? Clue --- it is NOT to help white men.

This world SHOULD work on merit. It SHOULD work on the best person wins.

But it doesn't. Yet the group on the positive side of ALL of these double standards, are the ones who constantly cry about injustice.

And the other side is finally getting sick and tired of being blamed for shite they have absolutely nothing to do with.

Thus - the RAPIDLY GROWING racial tension.

Last question for the left --- instead of me checking my privilege, perhaps you should check your "debate" style.

In history, how many problems have been resolved with -- frick you one side, you are wrong and if you disagree you're a racist?

Answer - none?

Racism, part 1. Lots of white people are either super-overtly racist (I don’t want my kid going to school with those people) or semi-overtly racist (It’s not that I don’t like black people, it’s just that I don’t want my kid going to a bad school) or vague-covert racist (What if my daughter starts dating one of them?) When black people start moving into a school, these white people get out.

I love how this jumps to whitey as if we invented racism. LOTS of all kinds of people are like this for good and bad reasons. Like wants to be with like. It's a tale as old as time.

quote:

Racism, part 2. Lots of white people believe that when black people move into a neighborhood, property values will go down. They believe that they need to sell quickly or else they will lose the investment they’ve made in their home. Since schools are typically populated by neighborhoods, flight from neighborhoods translates to flight from schools.

To a certain degree this is rational (money is involved, after all - no matter how open minded anyone is, no one wants to lose money on an investment) and is effectively a self-fulfilling prophecy - folks believe "there goes the neighborhood" ergo it goes.

quote:

Racism, part 3. Lots of white people are under the (incorrect) perception that minorities use more drugs, commit more crimes, are more dangerous, etc. In reality, drugs usage rates are almost identical (with some studies suggesting that white kids are slightly more likely to use than other groups). Crime rates tend to vary by community, not by race: people in affluent areas commit fewer crimes across the board, regardless of ethnicity. In poor areas, crime rates rise across the board.

Yeah - and I don't see this, even in the South. It is far, far more likely to be a class assessment than skin color. If the upper middle class neighborhood gets a new resident who happens to be a new-to-the-area attending cardiologist, originally from Nigeria? No white flight under this scenario.

If an African American single mom with 5 teenage boys moves into to the sketchiest house in a lower middle class neighborhood? Yeah - folks are too lazy to get to know these folks, assume the worst and call their realtor.

That's not racism. That's economic Darwinism.

It means that deep down inside everyone knows a few things

1. In general Asians are smarter than whites
2. In general Whites are smarter than blacks
3. In general blacks are smarter than small children

I kid, I kid.

i dont see why it is so "bad". It isnt just Human nature, animals ans plants follow this, so it is Life Nature to be more akin to other like yourself. it is just how it is.

blame it on god, or the ancient aliens that created us.

Almost all races have people in them who are racist. I've spent time with all races. When I used to sell/do dope, I spent a lot of time in the hood. When I was younger and now with my work, I have been able to travel the world. Between North America, Central America, South America, a couple of countries in Africa, certain parts of Asia (Thailand, Japan and a couple others), islands like Roatan and Puerto Rico, and parts of the UK, I've had good interaction with lots of different people. Then, I'm white and from Louisiana, so of course I obviously have that angle too, although I am different than many friends I grew up around who were more isolated.

So, I feel pretty confident in saying I've been around enough people and heard enough things that I can confidently say that all races have people that are racist, or maybe just prejudiced. But it's everywhere, however, it's not everyone. My worst experiences were in war torn places of Africa that I had to be for business. Some things I don't even like thinking about or talking about bc I hate bringing back those memories.

Here at home, the most racist people were probably people in North BR. I'm not saying that just to say it, but many times, I had people flat out tell me I was lucky that I was with my people. They openly said they wanted to rob me and stuff like that. The distrust for any white person is mind boggling, and I was doing the same shite as them. Just crazy to think places in America are still like that, regardless of skin color.
