Why choose "Platinum" over other trims? The term "Platinum" is cliche now
The "Platinum" just looks like like someone is trying too hard to impress, and the exterior looks too flashy for a truck.
The "King Ranch" should be the top of the line package.

Base models of various categories probably make some sense, but I get your point.

You laugh but Ram has been making strides they saw I think a 10% increase in sales last year.

A lot of people buy shitty products. But that wan't why I was laughing.

That's my point. Most financing deals make an 84-month note an appealing financial decision, but many on this board think paying cash is universally the best option.
cash is the best option. If you have it. How many 84 month notes do you see at 0% APR?

The Limited is the new top of the line. MSRP $60k

If you actually had the cash for a new truck and got a sub 3% rate, financing is the way to go. Almost everyone that says that doesn't actually have the cash, so it's a moot point.

You're letting a salesperson tell you their truck is better than their competitors even though you just bought it. You'll take a bath on your "old" truck, and likely wont get a great deal on your next one.

oh I'm not trying to be some Dave Ramsey dickhead about it. I mean a car- generally- is a poor use of capitol. But a necessary use nonetheless. Lets face it, spending $50 on a bottle of bourbon isn't exactly prudent, but its easily rationalized as is the expense of a luxury vehicle.

My friend is an engineer at Chrysler. I used to intern at Chrysler with him. Sooooo... so much for that.
Secondly my truck will be paid off for in 2019. I understand how depreciation works. Also historically rams are priced lower than Ford based on similar trim levels so I am not expecting to lose a great deal of money.

Even better, the guy that designed it is telling his design is better than the competition. What a surprise.
Why'd you even buy the F150 in the first place?

It doesn't necessarily matter if it's 0%, what matters is the opportunity cost.
