Any solid puppy training tips

Crate train him, your furniture will thank you and he will end up loving his crate! It might be rough for the first few days but you will both be happier in the long run.

You can feed dogs all of the chicken bones you want as long as they are not cooked. I used to feed my Boston Terriers a raw diet, never any dog food. I would just get whole chickens, chop them in half and give of them half of one. I would also give them shite like turkey necks and whatever else was cheap at the store. Only raw meat and poultry and they were super healthy. Its kinda gross the first few times but they LOVED it!!!

Not at all, I would say a week max as long as you play with the dog a lot during the day.

Morning, lunch, and night walk. He will also have another dog his size to play with. Hopefully that'll be enough to wear him out

That should help a lot. Having a playmate is always good for him, especially if you crate them both next to each other but if your current dog hasn't been crated that may be tough!

Scruffy agrees with this. You'll just end up calling it Rou. Might as well just name it Rou to begin with.

That dog is going to be way too smart for it's own good

We just rescued a German shepherd + Australian cattle dog mix puppy and the dude is already smarter than us.

Your puppy will be super willing to learn but if you but if you don't exercise him he'll find fun ways to entertain himself (by destroying things)

Like everyone else said. Crate train immediately and make his kennel the greatest place in the world. Our puppy LOVES going in his kennel on command now and he goes in and sleeps on his own now when we leave it open.

There will be accidents, don't get angry and just learn to watch them better.

Have fun!

First of all, don't give him bones of any kind, despite what the previous posters told you. Ask a vet about feeding bones to your dog. Never feed him table food, he'll develop stomach problems later on and the medicine that you'll have to give him later on will cost you an arm and a leg. Never, ever hit your dog. I find potty training to be the most important thing if your dog will be living inside with you. Every time you bring him out and he does his business, praise him. When he does his business inside, scold him, then bring him outside. He'll get the hang of it. Never hit him or use any physical force on him. You'll have a friend for life and you'll be crushed if you outlive him. Good luck and enjoy your new friend.

Go ahead and get a sams club membership and stock up on treats. Make training 20x easier.

Also, if you haven't already, invest in a kennel.
