Pets are pets and cats suck, but....

I just lost the coolest cat ever, who was with me from 19-35 years old. Cat thought he was a dog, played fetch and all. In a week he went from himself, to lethargic. Last day, his belly got distended. He never showed pain. At 6am yesterday he cried out for the first time. I woke up, along with my SO and we petted him as he fought for about 2 minutes, then silence.
Aside from my dad, my big cat (fat arse and happy) has been a part of my entire adult life. I am fine at work, but coming home and seeing his spots, without him, is hard. And the other dog and cat seem a little off kilter. Really sucks. Just saying...

It does suck. Sorry for your loss. And your other pets will grieve and look for the deceased pet for a while.

I'm very to hear that. I also have a cat that thinks he's a dog and is amazing and I can't imagine how sad I'm going to be when he's gone.

Some cats are cool (had one that would fetch as a younger one but then got lazy) and some are the devil.

No they don't, I've never came across a cat that acted even remotely like a dog.
Also they try to play up being cat owners against owning a dog but will do it by saying their cat acts and thinks it's a dog... Da frick?

Despite the anti cat meme that's so popular (and funny) they can be awesome. My parents have a cat that is cool as shite. Be happy you had such a great time with him for so long.

Cats can be awesome. Sounds like yours was.
No surprise that the other pets are taking it hard. A member of their pack is missing.

My parents have a cat like that. He's awesome.

BC I have a cat that acts like a fkn CAT. Not dog-like at all. My big boy was as close to a dog as possible. I just lost a friend of 16 yrs so back the frick up.

If loosing a pet doesn't suck, then there is something wrong with you or your pet. Love the people and pets still in your house. It will get better.
