I have a friend with downs back home. He's 21 and he's now just figuring out about girls. It's fricking awesome. I'm trying to take him to a strip club for my birthday

What a ridiculous oversimplification.

Sure, it'd be better for the dodo bird. But mankind is the greatest thing to ever happen to a lot of other species.

Never mind the fact that we too are creatures.

I've spent a lot of time around people with various learning disabilities.
People with Down Syndrome were my favorite. I bet I learned more from being around them than they learned from me.

I honestly envy them in many regards. I truly believe that intelligence is actually a curse in many ways, and the dumber you are, the happier you are. Intelligent people are always wallowing in the past and obsessed with their future. Dumb people merely live in the present and are always happy. Its sad really.

This will be so true for me in the next week and a half.

Nah, He was offended by the word "dumb". And since the word dumb is usually meant to be insulting and degrading, I can see his point.

Exactly. I mean, we get it. People with Downs don't have the mental capacity. Obviously. To call them dumb is still insulting. It's like calling a paraplegic unathletic.

I have a child with cerebral palsy. She'll never win a chess game, but frick anyone who would call her dumb. It's easy for unaffected people to scoff at people like me, but they have no idea what its like.

If I'm ever in New Mexico, I definitely plan on eating at this restaurant.
