I make some as a mixer. 2-3 lbs lean ground sirloin and some cooked white/brown rice. Lasts around a week and a half.

first let me clarify this is not an attempt by me to join in some uppity trend

my dog is clearly hungry but she started to dislike the food i've been getting her for a while. (blue wilderness, top of the line shite)

just looking for some ideas before i try switching to another dry food

A lot of people do it. My stuff is basically the same, but in kibble form and vacuum packed.

she has eaten the chicken/brown rice and salmon/vegetable blends of blue buffalo for a while. i have to mix the can of it and the dry to get her to eat it now though.

How is it uppity? My dogs eat good as long as I'm able to provide it for them. Plus it's healthier. They don't get full servings either, just a little mixer.

Had a female GSD once and she had a food absorption problem when she got up in age. It was easier for me to cook her food and put the meds in there to help her with that problem. I'd buy those 10# bags of chicken legs and thighs. Couple cans of veggies, box of that chicken broth, some rice a little seasoning and put it all in a big crock pot. Deboned the chicken except for the soft boney parts. She loved it. Made enough for 4-5 days kept it in the fridge and heated up what i figured she'd eat.

Yep a gigantic Tupper ware. It lasts a long time too. I find brown rice keeps better than white.
