People who constantly lie

Are there some people who just can't help lying constantly, it's just part of their nature?
I've known a few people who just lie all the time, for no real reason, even on issues when there is no reason to lie or they aren't really hiding anything. It just makes it hard to trust these people when something important does happen. How do you trust people who are known liars? Can they really not help it?
Had another friend who lied about being able to get free Saints tickets, free DisneyWorld tickets, etc. Called him on this BS and he said "remember when I got us free Zephyrs tickets?" yeah, cause those are exactly the same. But he continued to lie, insisting he can get all this free stuff, knowing that he had paid to go to 3 Saints games last season.
I guess a lot of people do lie to impress others, but seems like some of these would be found out pretty easily.
Not talking about lying on the OT. Most people do.

a liar lives across from me
she imagines herself a genius
her own mother got so sick of her lies
no longer speaks to her
I know how she feels
but I don't wanna know how she got there but
she was known as a barfly. I didn't know her then

Say brah I can get you free Pelicans tickets. That's because people can't give them away fast enough.

I know 2 people like this IRL.
They lie so much, it's part of their life. They actually believe their own lies.
Had one of these people tell me at a wedding reception he was taking correspondence courses at Harvard.
My other friends and I used to get into it with him and put his arse on blast in front of others. Finally, we just accepted him for who he is. A pathological liar.
Now, he totally has cut us out of his life because he's afraid we will ruin his identity to others.

It becomes a habit for some people. I know this guy, I guess I can call him a friend, I been knowing him since a kid, but was never really close friends.. Anyway, if anyone tells a story and its about something someone did, this dude will always follow up with something he did or something someone he knows did that was better than the original story. If someone goes hunting and kills a 6 pointer.. This dude will claim he or someone he knows killed a 10 pointer.
People use to make up stories to tell around him just to hear him come back with some bullshite story.. And the bad thing is, I am not exaggerating. Its not something he might do every once in awhile, its something thats automatic. And he always starts of "man that aint nothing. One time" or "man that aint nothing... One of my uncles.."
