We were at Scout camp outside of Seattle a few weeks ago. I spotted a few kids wearing masks, in a forest environment, outdoors, in the bright sunshine. I truly felt sorry for them.

Truly broken people. Very sad.

It's amazing how much damage 2020 did to the psyche of millions of Americans.

It's made me no longer feel that my job is secure. The way they were "mandating without mandating" vaccines was very concerning and its important that I don't forget this. Developing a 2nd income stream is crucial

I work in a State office building in downtown BR. Still quite a few people wearing them. Most are women of a certain ethnic group.

Those people are just lost causes . Not other way to say it

I ventured over there after your post. Wow, those people are literally insane.

Here are a few gems;

quote:

At least once a week my partner and I find ourselves in a situation where we ask ourselves, "Are we the crazy ones?" We still do curbside pick up of our groceries, passing a parking lot full of the cars of maskless folk going into the store to do their shopping. We drive by restaurants that are full. When we were lining up for our bivalent boosters this week, we were the only people in line with N-95's. At least a third of the folks in the line were maskless and were handed a blue surgical mask by the nurse checking appointment times before they could enter the clinic. Our friendship circle has narrowed because so many of our friends have stopped masking. Some believe covid is over, others feel it's inevitable that they will catch it and they might as well have as much fun as they can in the meantime. So thank you for this community where I can go when I feel my confidence wavering.

quote:

I know exactly how you feel. We are the same.
We have basically lost all of our old friends, because they don't mask, and don't understand why we won't do any indoor activities with them. Luckily, my kids are used to masking, so when we're out on a walk, or at the park, it doesn't bother them that they're the only ones masking. They're used to keeping their distance from people as well.

quote:

My education up to PhD level was paid for by the taxpayer, which is now no good to anyone since I can't work, as I'm disabled by long covid. I was triple vaccinated, not in a risk group, fairly normal guy as far as I know.

This is not a virus we can live with. Zero covid is the best solution. Australia and New Zealand prove it's possible while retaining democratic government

quote:

The husband is coming back tonight from a conference in Vegas. He was of course the only one masked, n95 Aura. He didn't take it off at all and ate in his room. He bought the Ikea air filter with him for the hotel. He's so far testing negative, PCR tomorrow morning and masking up at home for a bit. Probably our most challenging thing so far.

The problem is they didn’t do them. The people still buying into Covid hysteria were the ones that cheered on people losing their jobs and livelihoods for “doing them” during that time. Can’t blame anyone for being bitter. For some it’s a symbol of oppression and tyranny.

Never forget, those same idiots still wearing masks were the ones wanting lone surfers arrested and skateboard parks filled with sand and playgrounds shut down…

A lot of stupid in this thread.

1. I don't want my employees getting covid.

2. I don't want my business shut down by a covid outbreak that will cost me money.

1. you dont own a business

2. if you did, thankfully you don’t, COVID wouldn’t be what shut it down. An incompetent spineless owner would.

I know what you are saying. It was obvious there was a fakeness and a political agenda regarding much of the Covid hysteria especially among younger white dems. Saying that, older black people truly were and some still to this day, terrified, not fake terrified, they truly are. I work in ems and even felt bad for them. Never forget walking into a clinic early 2021 seeing an approximately 70s black lady standing in front of the door in tears because she was scared to touch the door. I opened it for her and of course and she was very thankful. I noticed the same in stores, older black people scared to death of people around them, heartbreaking. It’s a shame the media and white democrats pushed so much fear in them.

In Shreveport there were some local black people who weren’t politically driven who spoke out about the detriment shutdowns would have on black youth in our area. Shreveport was already bad but is now in a free fall since the shutdowns. Those people were quieted very publicly and quickly.

This isn't 2020. I don't even think people are dying from Covid anymore.

Most state workers in downtown BR take on a very round shape

I take Airline Highway south home from the old bridge to around Womens Hospital everyday. The amount of black women alone in their cars wearing a mask in 100 degree weather in North Baton Rouge is fricking ridiculous

There was a post on that Reddit thread of a zero covid chick who went to a Taylor swift show and she was so worried about catching covid on the shuttle she waited until the last shuttle just so nobody else would be on and she opened all the windows in the Shuttle and she got home like 4 hours after the show ended just for safety.

I believe YOU, have no idea what a vaccine is. They can change the definition, but it’s still doesn’t make it a vaccine.

My wife and I both had Covid again in early June, I caught it at a poker tournament and was pretty damn sick - missed a couple of days of work. Went to the doc cuz I have asthma and anytime I catch a bug I like to nip it in the bud so it doesn’t trigger my asthma for the next two weeks. Was fine 3 days later. Never knew it was Covid until my wife came down with it a couple of days behind me and went to a different doc where they tested her and she was positive. Was still skeptical until she started having loss of smell and loss of taste symptoms. So it’s definitely still here.

But frick no we don’t have masks any more. That shite was always stupid.

I do still take a nip of Ivermectin myself every 6 weeks or so when I give it to my beagles, probably keeps all kind of nasty shite out of my system.

I see people wearing masks, even sometimes alone in their car. The only talk I hear about it is from people discussing how much misinformation was touted as gospel.

I'm sure it is true that some are still dying from complications from that virus. Elderly people are susceptive to many things.

My dad is here at st Francis in Monroe with COVID and the door to his room is plastered with doom and black plague warnings and I'm literally sitting here with a pj's coffee and no mask and even when the nurse stops in she looks completely over it.

Nobody has said a word to me.
