Sure it does. Hurt feelings form armor. You learn to get tough. Or turn the tables. You make weakness into strength. Only through the heat of the fire is the sword forged.

You sure are keen on spending other people's money, aren't you Heather?

I totally agree. The pensions are too lavish for public school teachers. They should take money from them.

the idea of poor kids getting free meals at school doesn't seem ridiculous to me

Need to set up a better way to collect the debts instead of this.. If there are kids receiving free lunches then this seems like an absurd way to collect a debt.. Withhold report cards, don't allow registration or maybe disallow extra curricular activities until the debt is satisfied or a payment plan is in place..

They shouldn't be allowed to play sports or be in clubs. That cost more than food. Sounds reasonable to me

This seems like this is happening to the children of parents who are capable of paying for lunch but refusing. Sorry kids, but your parents suck. Way of the world.

Students who are eligible for free are reduced lunch are not getting these meals. This comes from families who are able to pay but refuse

But why should any public school student be required to pay for a lunch? Shouldn't taxes cover that? It's not like they can leave and go somewhere else. They have to go to that cafeteria.

frick, because of the new rules, some schools won't even let kids bring a lunch anymore.

Pretty much all that needs to be said. Anyone who can willingly take food out of the mouths of children in need is a piece of shite.

At my son's middle school once you reach your 30.00 credit limit you don't get any lunch at all.

Yeah no kidding. Evidently the lunch my preschool age kids get here at home 3-4 times a week isn't good enough.

Well when taxes go to school instead of the pockets of those in charge you may have an argument. Right now most schools don't get the money they deserve and can't hire quality teachers, get proper supplies, fix things that should be fixed, etc.
Paying for lunches has been around for ages so it is not like it is new. Lunches are also like .50-.85 cents for students so it is not like they are paying 5 bucks a lunch.
