Just found out today that Peach Tree City, GA has over 90 miles of golf cart trails that basically connect the entire city. Teens drive golf carts to school and are able to drive them to restaurants, shopping centers, and other locations. What a unique trait for a city and a cool place to be as a teen. Any of y'all ever rode on the trails?

My wife's family has friends that live there. They rave about it. I would love to visit. I am an david golf cart owner myself. The things are so convenient when you have a short distance to go and have convenient spots to get to, like bars or restaurants located near your hood.

Coached a couple of games there. Gotta say it was pretty cool seeing the golf cart tailgate section.

Are there speed limits on these trails? DWI checkpoints?

Yes, we have some friends that live there and we have stayed at their house a few times (not swingers). We would take their golf cart to the grocery store and to a pizza place. It really is a cool setup.

That seems like a really fricking weird thing to clarify in a golf cart thread

Pretty cool. Dated a girl from there and rode the trails some. If I'm not mistaken, there is a golf cart parking lot at McIntosh High School. YouTube has some vids. I'm starting to see some golf carts around North Chattanooga. Kind of hope it catches on.

Yes. Used to live there and still have lots of family there. DUIs on the golf carts and checkpoints are a very real thing and regular occurrences.

It seems that this is probably necessary.

I've been to Sandestin resort three times and there are a shite ton of golf carts riding all over the place. I've never seen the first cop anywhere on the roads, which I'm sure are private. Seems it has to be a concern with people leaving the village with all of the bars and restaurants and driving back to the villas and condos across Hwy 98.

Dated a girl there that bartender at the Y Knots sports bar. She used to hitch me rides on the back of her cart. DUI is definitely real in Peachtree.

There's a tunnel under 98 for the golf carts.

There is a tunnel under Hwy 98 that connects the beach side and the bay side.

I had a lot of friends in HS from Peachtree. They all hated it there. They saw it as Pleasantville.

There was a shitstorm a while back over a dui on the golf carts. I forget if it was someone running for mayor or sheriff but something like that. Accusations flying over a set-up. Good stuff

Used to live there back in '96. We loved our time there. It is a big Delta community and is very well planned out. The city is divided into smaller communities (villages?) with everything you need in that area such as grocery store, restaurants, drug stores, etc.

I understand it has grown considerably since we lived there but is probably still well planned.
