Think I've seen quite a few engineers post on this board. Anyone taking the PE this April? I'm a structural taking the SE (just the vertical loads Friday exam) and man studying again sucks I was glad to leave it behind at school. How's it going for everybody else?

I'm ready! I can do 100 push-ups, 500 sit-ups, and run a 5k in under 30 mins. I'm going to get an A

Taking the transportation depth, and I've been going to the Testmasters prep class. We're about halfway through, and I feel pretty good. Just bummed at the amount of reference materials I need for that depth. shite's expensive

I failed it last fall. It is not needed in what I do/want to do, just a personal goal. But studying when you don't need it is very difficult. The test itself is not very hard, just the amount of material you need to cover. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Taking the geotechnical PE in April. Been studying test masters material that I actually got from someone on here. It's pretty thorough. I really hope I pass the first time because I don't know if I can study for it again

That's the section I failed. I have never designed foundations, and that was the focus on the afternoon. If anyone has any construction material, this guy would appreciate any study material.

I took the Braille version in Esperanto just to make it more difficult for me.

I made a perfect score and the female proctor gave me some extra credit after the exam.

After studying for this damn thing every summer for the last 3 years I am so thankful that I passed it this past October. Good luck to those who are next in line

Are you in a state that requires the SE?

No actually. I'm in Birmingham and Alabama technically only requires the PE, and doesn't issue an SE (I would have to apply for licensure in Illinois to get the SE by my name). So yes, I will get the same PE status from most states by taking either the 16 hour SE or 8 hour PE exam.

It's something I've debated back and forth on, and ultimately decided to just go with the SE exam. Kind of figured if I pass this I should be good to go for the rest of my career and never have to take another damn test,

Same could be true if I just took the PE though, not sure

Screw that... the SE exam is no joke. MUCH harder than the PE.

If you comfortable with the test masters material then you will do fine.
