If you were in NOLA on New Year's Eve in the French Quarter (for Ole Miss or just for fun), this news broadcast and message is for you:

Plea on TV News

quote:

On New Year’s Day, 28-year-old Josh Woodruff was trying to hail down an Uber in the French Quarter in New Orleans. As he was in the crosswalk, he was hit by a black sedan. Authorities say Woodruff was dragged for six miles and left for dead in the street. Now, his family is asking for help solving the crime. The Woodruffs said they wonder if somebody in the French Quarter took a picture of the car.

quote:

“We’re particularly interested now in people from Mississippi or Oklahoma who may have been there for the Sugar Bowl and they may have a video or photo for some other reason- if it’s at the right time, about 3:10 a.m. on New Year’s Day and in the French Quarter, and a black Toyota Cary or sedan in the video – that would be useful,” said Mark.

The smallest detail may help police. So if you or someone you know (Ole Miss fan, Oklahoma State fan, New Year's Eve reveler, etc.) was in the French Quarter New Year's Eve, forward the video link to them. The Crimestoppers link is at the end of each story.

They have plenty of views and know the exact route it took after the hit and run. But it is too dark and they can't see the license plate. The windows are tinted and they haven't ever said if they think it is a male or female driver.

So now the parents are pleading with people who may have been in town and never heard this story. Ole Miss and OSU fans would have left before this full account hit the airwaves a few days later. So they are hoping this reaches one of them who may unknowingly have a snapshot of something that will help the police.

What a sad situation. The cops weren't able to get any footage from the street cams? I wonder if Earthcam has anything from that night in that location.
