otw to lake charles for the 3rd time this week ...dammit

Monday wreck on I-10 bridge, Tuesday got as far as Lafayette and at the kaliste saloom exit (?) the traffic was backed up for miles east and I just turned around and headed west. LSP had everyone exiting the I-10.

I used to go from Nola to LC for work a good bit. Hwy 90 was my best friend.

This probably won't help. M-F there is going to be a wreck somewhere on the I-10 between BR and LC. Hell, you could probably reduce that down to Laffy and LC.

I feel you. Wife's car overheated on the way home from New Orleans Monday in Gonzalez. Got to Mandeville (we live in Lafayette) to pick up my brother's extra car and drove back home during that overturned 18 wheeler fun at I55. Going pick up the car tonight, returning my brother's car in Mandeville and coming back home tonight. Going back to NO tomorrow afternoon for the NO Bowl. 3 trips in a week

I'll take cover after I say this, but
Darrells is overrated.
There are a lot of good things about LC though.

Eh, I drive that stretch at least once a week (doing it in a couple hours actually). Maybe I've had good luck, but I can only remember one wreck that caused bad traffic in the past couple of years that I encountered.
ETA: Waze has saved me a few times now that I think about it. Hop on hwy 90 for 5 miles and get right back on 10

Around 2002 I got stuck on the atchafalaya bridge from around 9pm to 2am on a Friday night because of a wreck. I listened to Lakers game on some AM station I found from 9:30-12. People were walking around. Some were cooking out of there motor homes.

A lot might be a overstatement. Darrells is awesome because it's different than most poboys IMHO but I get the surf and turf.
