Buddy of mine is in Vegas for conference, his first time. I guess plans fell through and he's by himself and not with his apparently shitty coworkers which he had planned to be with.

I have not been there in 10 years. Any advice on what to do? He's on foot at Ceaser's but staying at Bally's.

Any tips would be appreciated. I feel for him, his wife sucks (not literally apparently and that's the problem)and he's got 3 young kids, never gets out anymore at all.

TIA

That's verbatim the advice I gave him. Unfortunately I don't think it was helpful.

Tell him to pound a few Vegas Bombs then call him back after he's drunk. Drunks are way more fun than sober people!!

This sounds like a potential case that is ripe for blowing massive amounts of cash on the tables. Vegas is not kind to those that are unhappy and alone. Tell him to get out while he still can.

It could be, but I don't think he'd do it. He may end up pant less in the Bellagio fountains, but he's not much of a gambler.

I'm sorry if this another shitty OT topic (per yellowfin) but to you youngins, this could be you in a few years. Beware...

Take out some cash at ATM; go to one of the Casino bars; drink expensive scotch; wait for Tonya/Becky/Jennifer to approach you; have fun!

Does he like cigars? There's a great cigar bar in Caesar's Forum Shoppes. You can sit on their patio and people watch. You can throw a rock and hit a dozen great restaurants - I can't think of any bad ones, really - good place to kill time. Find a hot, cheap craps table and bet the pass line and 6 & 8. Chill in the sports book at Bellagio next door. Also at Bellagio, the Petrossian Bar right by the entrance is good people watching.

He should find plenty enough to do staying between Caesars, Bellagio, and Aria (City Center).

Just tell him to relax and take in the scenery. First time there, all that should be pretty cool for him. Go see a show or two. Go check out the casinos.

I've always liked Bally's for their poker room. The Bourbon Room Bar in the Venetian (yes, named after the Rock of Ages Movie)is a good bar for hanging out and drinking if you like 80's-90's Music.

Taxi's are good for transportation but lines get pretty long on weekends and after shows. The Joint at the Hard Rock usually has a pretty good live show and the Hard Rock is a target rich environment.

Oh yeah, you can't go wrong with hookers and blow. Lots of Cali women there on weekends that pretty much look like hookers.

Seriously, there is so much to do in Vegas that's not gambling related he should be having the time of his life. Coworkers just slow you down.

If he's not an outgoing club type of dude he should treat himself to a great steak, fine liquor, and catch one of the comedy shows. Planet Hollywood has a couple shows tonight.

Depends on what you are into

Las Vegas is too big and varied for the basic "What should I do in Las Vegas" question to be answered directly.

It depends on what you enjoy and don't enjoy.

As someone who used to live there, I was never big on drinking or going to bars or clubs. But I loved Sports and food. So I would spend a lot of time in sports books and trying out different restraunts. Also liked to golf.

tell him to look up great resturants for whatever food he likes. and go get a 60dollar hooker. if you walk the strip you will get about 100 flyers for hookers just from walking around.

rent a scooter and see the city if he is that bored.

but the best thing yet is still the vegas classic
hookers and cocaine!

sorry I didn't see this earlier...I would personally roll through some casinos until I fould a good sports book where I would place a couple of bets and watch some of the SEC baseball games...

if you do that, everything moves slowly enough so that you can get a few hours of entertainment without spending much at all...and might even win a few bucks...

Alone in vegas?

shite, that is heaven to me. I make 3-4 trips a year by myself and it is my most fun part of every year. Limitless possibilities, no responsibilities, no one to answer to or plan around, no time table, I live for that.

I'll go pick a place I like or want to try to eat, go to the tables for some drinks and gambling, socialize with people at the main bar at cosmo, heart bar at PH, then head over to surrender at the Wynn or whatever club is good that night. Then after the club have another drink or two at the tables if I havent hooked up or aren't partying with anyone. Then hell if I want to keep it going, maybe hit the rhino.

I absolutely love a night out by myself in vegas. Live for that shite and the adventure and possibilities of it. Excited thinking about it now and may do 3-4 nights of it next month.
