Pump out your mechanical/spetic system.

They don't have an infinite amount of space in them. That on top of all the rain seeping into the tank from the field lines is causing it to backflow into your house.

You don't want to know what happens if you let it keep filling up.

Also, it's good to dump some dry dog food down your toilets every now and then and flush it into the tank to help feed bacteria in your tank that breaks down waste. All the household chemicals you use that go into the system kills the bacteria and the dog food helps fight that.

Not sure. We've been in the house 3 years and never had it done.

It was probably pumped when you bought the place so the health department would issue the docs needed to close, but the recommendation is to pump them about every 4 years IIRC.

Should be quite a few around Ponchatoula-Hammond area - let google be your friend - unless you have a large phone book with yellow pages. Under septic tanks.

Septic tank with drain going out to front ditch

if the heavy rains filled up the ditch, then your pipe was backed up to the house. remember, you are draining bath water, sink water, and toilet water in the same tank/pipe. once the ditch drains, the water starts to flow again. you need to get your septic tank pumped out as that's what is probably stopping it from holding it's max capacity during flooding times.

lemme guess....the one's that not draining now is closest to the septic tank, right?

I believe Gainey concrete systems behind Ferria's (SP) fire truck place use to pump septic tanks - plus sell them - Holden La.

Yeah, I have a call into a company in Loranger that 2 people have referred me to. If that falls through I'm going to call Gainey's. They're only about 3 miles down the road from me

The grey water does. It's not like it's raw sewage. If it was, I wouldn't eat the frogs and crawfish from the ditch. Or let my kids play in it on hot summer days
