Back brakes are squeaking after driving for about 15 min. I only have 46,000 miles on my car (2013 challenger r/t), which had me a little concerned.
I brought to the dealership and they said I had plenty of pad left.
Do any of you OT Mechanics know why they would squeak so bad with a lot of padding left?

Thanks in advance!

Do you have disc or drum brakes?

I would assume disc on that car

Because of cheap parts. Lots of metal in the brake pads is the term used.

Unfortunately, the factory brakes are usually the best option.

brakes are squeaking because the metal backing plate on the pad has probably come loose.

You could also put some Antisqueak on the back of your pads.

I feel like the dealership would have seen that while inspecting it. But I will ask when I go by.

Some dealerships have shitty service departments. I wouldn't rule something out just because you assume a dealer would have caught it.

Pay extra and buy ceramic pads. Never had an issue with squeaking with ceramics.

Bingo, it's either the clips or the metallic particles in the pads causing the noise

I have three factory rotors and one Autozone rotor. My pads are high quality. I've tried everything I can do to get that one rotor to shut up, but nothing has worked. Did you put crappy rotors on there?

I mean the rotors are factory. Whatever came with the car. I never changed them.

On my truck, one of the hardware clips broke and it was squeaking just like a wear indicator. Could be that, was a 20 min fix tops. Could also be just a rock like others have mentioned.
