How is unemployment so low, yet everywhere you go there are signs or comments of being understaffed (at least blue collar type environments)? I’m asking this sort of tongue in cheek. But I seriously want to know what I’m not understanding here in this equation?

Biden cabal doesn’t count people who stopped looking in unemployment numbers. Which is fricked.

You are assuming the media and government are being forthright and honest.

You are assuming incorrectly.

You can do anything you heart desires.

You can become a doctor, or a lawyer, or an astronaut. Or you could buy a laptop, and smoke lots of crack, and record videos of you banging hookers and save them on the laptop.

In this country, you can literally do anything you want, in this day and age, if you put your mind to it.

It’s really just that simple. God bless America.

As bad as it may sound, many low wage seekers can’t pass a drug test.

We are in a sad state of affairs in this country.

Your answer lies in how the reported "unemployment rate" is calculated.

What part don't you understand? Low unemployment means not many people are looking for work. Businesses are understaffed because there are not enough people looking for work. What doesn't make sense?

I know a woman that was making aboot $26/hr. before covid, w/ benefits and OT available. She took a fat buyout when the government shut the country down. They offered her to come back 6 months later. She came back, called in sick 3 days a week, for 4 weeks, then quit. She now lives in an apt. with her BF and 3-4 others. Her BF has not worked in 5 years.

While I don't feel sorry for them, I wonder what the plan is. They did not pay rent during covid. They lived off of her buyout during covid.

Biden’s cooking the numbers. And I don’t mean literally in the White House microwave, but that’s not very far fetched, Biden will accomplish that first somehow, some way.

But to answer your question with what I have no idea is accurate or not, but folks apparently get fed up with not finding employment at their skill and education level and “drop out of the hunt”. And thus they are no longer counted as unemployed.

Because a lot of people simply quit looking for work.

Actually had someone turn down a job offer last week demanding more $$$. Was well qualified but not overqualified, salary offer was 85K, the advertised cap for the position applied was 75K...

Must not be hungry enough, #2 took it for less (he had less experience/education)

I’ve asked this, and I wonder if our aging demographics are catching up with us. I’m hoping that service industry and blue collar workers have taken higher paying jobs and bettered themselves.

On demand food/grocery delivery services are killing our standard workforce. People can make decent money, when it’s convenient for them to work, and people are willing to pay the high convenience fees.

Big tech companies are winning at the expense of brick and mortar businesses.
