The top of my left foot is killing me. I thought maybe I strained a muscle in it but it's been like this for going on 3 weeks now. Is that normal? If I did strain a muscle how long does that usually take to heal? It seems odd that the pain is on the top part of the foot..?

Are you particularly muscular on the tops of your feet?

Injury? If so what was the mechanism?

Type of pain? Aching? Burning? Worse with certain types of movements?

Anything new? Shoes? Exercises?

It's probably menstrual cramps.

Not burning, actual pain. And I have no clue what muscle on top (not sure what ones there even are). I thought it may have been due to when I exercised/ran and strained it but that was 3 to 4 weeks ago so I figured it should be healed up if that was the case.

No new shoes either, same ones I've been wearing.

And I guess I should add it feels like it's getting worse if anything, not better.

Possibly gout although that's more usually associated with the big toe. Very painful. Ibuprofen works wonders for it.

Lay off the booze and foods with purine for a permanent cure.

I had some foot pain

used aloe vera with DMSO

it did help

you should find a good chiropractor/physical therapist
they'll likely want an xray to rule out a broken bone etc

good luck man...

Looks like you´re going to have to quit running through the underbrush, and sit your little arse down on a lily pad.

Ugh...

But then you smell awful and taste garlic.

I hate DMSO but have to use it on the hors all the time.

Op, I kinda feel your pain. Bad ankle sprain (somewhat self diagnosed) when it rolled to the ground out then in 1 1/2 years ago. Seems to be getting worse. Sharp pain on the inside of the ankle and across the front especially when my heel is down. Too much ibuprofen and a back on track ankle brace are keeping it manageable ish. Try the back on track and see if it helps.
