I live in Orange.
Try The Playground for dinner. Great menu changes all the time.
Mil Jugos is a great Venezuelan spot but it's only open for lunch
If you want to hike, Valido Trail is short and has a great view.
Get a great workout at Thousand Steps Beach. Great talent to appreciate as you run the steps

The most naturally scenic beach too. The cliffs come right up to the sand which is why you have to go down a bunch of steps to get to it. In Laguna Beach, you can drive up to a park named " Top of the World". It is about a 10 minute drive from the town and has great views of the ocean and surrounding hills. You also can see all the smog below you. From that point you can hike along a ridge line and down into a canyon (Alisio Woods Canyon". I used to mountainbike that trail all the time.
