I promise you would rather had this, than had good ole abe lincolns plan to ship the slaves down south to work on banana and sugar plantations. Where the treatment made the south look like a 5 star resort.

One topic at a time. We just got Andrew Jackson off the twenty and finally put a real true American patriot on the bill.

I could spend all day pinpoint things but it's best to work one at a time

when do we villainize MLK for his anti-LGBTQ stances?

we cannot stand any form of bigotry in this country

It's going to take a real politician to heal the wounds this has caused because the racial divide is now greater than ever in New Orleans.

Perhaps the African Americans of this country should begin doing this amongst themselves and quit being slaves to a political party that tells them what to believe.

This! And throws them pennies for votes...

No it's not. All this shite is little more than a cartoon. Normal people - black and white - are going about their business just like they did before Mitch's cartoon antics.

So it's okay for Neo Nazis to build Hitler/ Himmler / Goering statues now since they are well removed from WWII ?

You guys have no sense of history.

Are there statues of Stalin, Cromwell, Napoleon, or even Kaiser Wilhelm II?

Each of those guys killed hundreds of thousands, massacred and raped their way through enemies and ultimately lost.

Yet they all have statues through Europe even now.

Are you really going to argue that Stalin was better than Hitler??

bayou country superfest will be in NOLA this year. That crowd may decide to boycott the city. The economic impact could be huge. Something Mitch didn't think about before taking the statues down

Maybe it is because I couldn't give two shites about some statuses, but I am not letting something that does not have an effect on my daily life stop me from having a good time.

Let's gut everything in New Orleans that defines the unique history of the place. Let's make it look like Cleveland-- that's the ticket.

People will not stop visiting the city over a few statutes that they probably didn't even know existed. Talk to me when tourist can no longer find great music, world renowned food, overall relaxed way of life, and the ability to drink like sailors.

Then I assume you will join me in my crusade to have mount Rushmore demolished as well as our currency to be recalled, redesigned, and reprinted. After all, how can we go day to day with those raysis shite lord slave owners in our wallets?! Every time I see a quarter or a dollar bill I get triggered.

And don't even start on the raysis abomination that is mount Rushmore. Do you see how big those slave owners faces are?! I mean Holy shite! And that piece of shite who wanted to ship all the blacks to south America and to an island off of Haiti? Blasphemy.

TEAR DOWN THAT MOUNTAIN

I never said I agree with tearing down the statues. All I'm saying is it's not revisionist history and you obviously don't know what that means.

What war did Stalin lose & after he died (in power )there was a quiet "de-Stalinization" & many Monuments/ Statues were removed & streets/ buildings renamed. And after the Cold war further "deStalinization" in ex Blocs.

But we are talking about the great American tradition of destroying monuments in countries like Germany & Iraq.

I don't remember the US invading / occupying the Soviet Union,France, England,etc..........
