the penalties have just gotten harsh over last 8 years or so IMO.
You could get one or two about 10-15 years ago, and it wasnt that big of deal IMO. It was a hassle and hit your wallet and were in the system for a few years but I honestly think they are really coming down on first offense DWIs in the last few years
But how do you drink and drive with Uber and Lfyt is beyond me

Once again, DWI laws have nothing to do with public safety and everything to do with revenue collection.

Nah. Could have done much better than her with some of the other people I worked with if wanted. But I had a gf who is my now wife at the time.

You're an idiot. There are many both poor and black people with two or more recent DWIs driving around new Orleans right now. We hear stories of drunks with 5 DWIs killing people once or twice a year on here.

It was when i was about 18 (33 now) when they really started cracking down on drunk driving. However the punishments were not that harsh. Do some classes, pay some money, do litter duty over a 2-3 year period.

If you are middle class with a meh job, bail is usually:
1st - $1000
2nd - $5000
3rd - $10,000
Of course, you've only got to come up with 10%. 2nd and 3rd offense bail goes down if you have money, a good job, and own shite
