OMI made me think about something...if you're the sole cheerleader it's over

I had an almost 2 year long relationship and I ended it because I was doing all the work to do anything with/for the two of us.

I was the cheerleader. I was her cheerleader. I was the relationship's cheerleader. And worstly, I was my cheerleader.

She wasn't there when I needed her. I was always there when she needed me. I was the creative force behind each and everything we did because I was the only one putting that kind of effort (and it's not hard to think of stuff to do if you love someone, right?). And I had all the energy and it had to go somewhere, so I just ended up entertaining myself around her because all the ways I could keep the relationship interesting -- and really, her interesting -- were used up.

So, thanks OMI. I was never really able to express why I had to call it off...then this song came out. I realize now, I didn't have a cheerleader. There needs to be two cheerleaders to make this work. Each needs to cheer for each other. I only cheered. I know that sounds gay.
