Sidding
It never sleeps.

The best way to remove asbestos siding is to sand without a mask on. That way you can smell when you get to the unsafe part and know when to stop. Just keep sanding and smelling until you smell strawberries.

Home inspectors can be stupid as frick. I was buying a house and it got stopped dead cold because of "asbestos" siding. I told the mortgage company it was redwood siding. They made me tear a fricking piece of my siding off to prove it was redwood.

Dangerous for what?
If you don’t touch it then it’s not dangerous. If you disturb it then it’s airborne and can cause issues if you’re around it for prolonged periods of time. So still not dangerous for you. That stuff lasts forever too.
If you want to replace it you’ll have to do yourself. Most contractors aren’t qualified. If they are they have to tent around the entire house. Very expensive.

as long as you're not grinding it up or eating it, it's perfectly safe.

Only dangerous when friable fibers are released. As long as you aren't drilling into it or cutting it, it isn't hurting anything.

Depends. What are you wanting to do with it? Keep it up, and it should be fine. Remove it, and you want to remove in largest pieces as possible.
Most transite panels contain asbestos in the 20-30% range, whereas most floor tiles are more like 2-5%.

It's fine as long as you aren't cutting, grinding, sanding it. I just bought some rental property with asbestos siding.

IT is outside, it isn't an issue. Regulations depend on the state, but in Louisiana, no remediation is needed for asbestos shingles or sidings to remove.

Not at all unless you plan on using a belt sander to remove it. If not... don't worry about it.

If you mean the old kind used as exterior siding in buildings around 60 years ago, it is not a problem. That is not the kind that can go airborne. Haven't had an inspector reject a house for that yet.

Not really dangerous unless you get the fibers airborne from either sanding or sawing into it.
If its a house you're looking to possibly buy, then I'd recommend talking with your insurance agent before you get too far into the purchase process. Most insurers that I know of won't write a house that has asbestos siding.
