OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Any doctor who performs an abortion in Oklahoma could be charged with a felony and punished with up to three years in prison under a bill that the Legislature passed Thursday.
quote:
The measure is the first of its kind in the nation, according to abortion rights group Center for Reproductive Rights. The bill also would restrict any physician who performs an abortion from obtaining or renewing a license to practice medicine in Oklahoma.

"Since I believe life begins at conception, it should be protected, and I believe it's a core function of state government to defend that life from the beginning of conception," said Dahm, R-Broken Arrow.

Pretty sure that won't hold up once somebody takes it to the Feds.

That's awesome. Hopefully more states follow suit and end this insanity.

I'm against abortion, but this is the pro life equivalent of a last second Hail Mary. A Doug Flutie moment isn't going to happen.

FIFY, although slightly.
Keep in mind OK is the same state pulled a full heist stealing $53,000 from a Christian rock group under the guise of the war on drugs- then declined to change the laws making asset forfeiture illegal because "there aren't any abuses, and the system works".
They have an interesting legal system.

This.
Hopefully the Governor vetoes it.

What a waste of taxpayer dollars.

Unfortunately, this ship has sailed and went over the horizon. Conservatives need to pick something new to battle.

I'll keep abusing my position of power for personal gain and if anyone ever notices I'll just remind them that the other guys kill babies" said Dahm, R-Broken Arrow.
Fixed it for him.

Here's what I don't get about the whole pro-choice stance. How can they say that life does not begin at conception? If life does not start at the point of conception, when does it start? And what denotes whatever arbitrary point they consider the beginning of life as the actual beginning instead of conception? In other words, if you say life does not start at conception, then show me the proof to back up that claim.

They don't actually believe that. Take it away and they have nothing to support their notion of pro-choice.
