Glad I've been buying oil stocks while they were cheap.

It will take a long time before you see actual recovery.

On a serious note, OPEC has a meeting scheduled June 2. That could have a big impact on the price so don't start counting your $50 chickens before they hatch.

what? The meeting is for them to decide if they are going to cut production, not increase it.

It can only benefit the guys down in Morgan City.

Not necessarily there has been a freeze on production between Russia and Saudi Arabia. This meeting could signal an end to that arrangement since the rate of bankruptcies has been increasing among E&P companies (Saudis are seeing a light at the end of this tunnel).

I would not expect to see any drop in production at this point since OPEC essentially goes the way of the Saudis, and the Saudis are finally triggering that wave of bankruptcies they wanted.

I don't work in the field, but I do work for an Oil and Gas company. Stop such a nancy about this. Everyone in this industry knows (or honestly should know) that the market is cyclical and these things will happen. The trade off is that you get handsome compensation when times are good.

I'm just happy some of these guys can possibly go back to work. Your attempt at humor at the expense of families that are really hurting financially is sad.
