What's a good place to go for New Year's Eve in NOLA? Don't have any house party options. Would be a group of around 10. Went to the metro last year (I know, I know) which was ok but looking for something less clubby. Is the Hyatt any good? What about the meridian?

Definitely not the quarter unless you like to be sandwiched into a claustrophobic panic and trampled.

Wherever you land, stay inside and away from all windows.

I went to BrisBi's by the lake two years ago and it was great. Downtown or any of those big parties always seems to be a cluster frick.

Yeah I can only imagine the total cluster of the French quarter. I recall actually going once for New Years and I reached a point where I literally could not move within the crowd. I hate feeling like that.

I've never been to the quarter for NYE the whole 18 years I've live here.
Is the area down by the river just as crazy crowded?
We always go to parties, but I've considered just going to the Westin to have drinks and watch the fireworks from their lobby area

Should have booked earlier, most of the nice places are full and anywhere that adds you this late is going to be nut to butt

what are the nice places that you would've recommended booking earlier?

Any of the high end hotels are fine and they don't overbook so it's a nice crowd but not packed
