Not Voting = Not Being Allowed to Bitch/Criticize...Why?

Why is the democratic process one of the few facets of American society where so many people go out of their way to declare that non-participants (in this case non-voters) aren't allowed to remark on the presidential election and outcome?
Non-coaches, a.k.a. fans, are allowed to question the play-calling of their favorite teams.
Diners are allowed to criticize the culinary abilities of a restaurant, although many might not be cooks.
Why am I not allowed to express my dissentiment towards either candidate just because I refuse to participate? If I view this as a rigged system and thereby choose to not be a part of the charade, why can I not lament the overall outcome of an election?
This is one of the only avenues in life I can think of where so many people are quick to dismiss your opinions just because you didn't engage in a particular activity.
I always hearken back to Ole George...

Because fans support the team financially, even if all they do is watch it on tv

You dont have to be a chef to know food sucks

I don't think the argument is necessarily dumb. Do you criticize a restaurant without eating at it?
In any case, people view criticizing without voting as hypocritical. You had a chance to take advantage of the right to vote given to you in a democracy and chose not to. You had "a voice" with your vote, however minimal, and chose not to use it.
I voted and like most Americans I will probably be complaining for the next four years regardless of which a-hole we elect

Because you're given the opportunity to express your opinion with a vote. If you don't want to exercise that opportunity then that's your option, but you don't get the opportunity to express it again (i.e. bitch)

The people who can't bitch or criticize are the people who do vote and vote for the wrong guy. They created the mess. I'm looking at you, Obama voters.

Are you really expressing anything if you aren't in a swing state?
Just pissing time away for the myth of democracy.

I have zero problem with you voicing how you feel.... It's your right to vote or not vote.

The United States is not a democracy. The United States, as a nation, is a republic.

You have about the same voice by not voting. Refusing to put your support towards these 2 assholes is a choice.

Vote for a third party then to make a point.
Also if you don't go to the polls then you don't vote for important ballot measures in our state.

Have you seen the 3rd party candidates?

First, I'm not in your state. And I do agree that is the important part of voting, which I did, while withholding voting for President.

Third party candidates sucked this year, but again voting third party is to make a point that neither of the two major parties represent my views.

And if you don't support any of those options? There should be a 'None of the Above' option.

And still misses on the entire issue in the first place....

It used to be a republic. Recent elections have felt like mob rule to me.

Illogical.

Even if voting isn't a complete fricking farce, we almost always seem to get two terrible candidates that aren't worth the effort.
The only thing that gives me hope with trump is that he is a political outsider.

If the restaurant only served shite stew and vomit cobbler, and it was the only restaurant in town, yes I would fricking criticize it.
That's what we're getting every 4 years.
