Tomorrow is coming, good or bad, it ain’t an illusion.

The OP is learning that small businesses cost a bunch to run. You think that if you get x amt if revenue you will be ok, then you want more, and you also don’t want all the rush of only having one client that can fire you and put you in the poorhouse.

Not so stupid if you have the brainpower to process what it actually means. Talk to someone depressed and listen to what is torturing them (the past)...then talk to someone who is anxious and see what is torturing them (what if's of the future)...then talk to someone at peace and see if they are not living in the moment...going with the flow and not regretting the past or worrying about what is next. Not stupid...but damn hard to do.

Not really. There is very little overhead with what I do. I have materials to purchase and crews to pay, and then I have to wait a few weeks to get paid, but the margins are pretty ridiculous. I should be giddy.

This may actually be the issue. I am not going to spend much for 6 months while building up cash. I need to be able to float several jobs before I get paid and also need to be ready to take on additional clients. I have an expansion plan but it will require quite a bit of cash to pull off.

I started college in 2007. I graduate in December finally. I took 3 total semesters off. I spent 2 years at brcc just getting my grades up enough to get back in to a 4 year uni. I should be happy but idk wtf I'm going to do with myself after I graduate. I have a good job so that wont be changing much. It's been my main goal for so long I'm gonna feel lost

I do. Even looked it up on Google once, but everything suggested I was depressed (which I am not). I guess I just like the challenge more than the reward. To me, that's a good character trait, because you're instantly going after the next goal.

Or maybe it's just my personality. I never have the happy emotion longer than maybe 10 or 15 seconds at a time, and it's usually related to someone else being happy.

It's a good thing you didn't marry and have kids, you'd be trying to figure out which weekend was yours and which was hers.

Take your wife to dinner to celebrate the client then on to the next target

Very similar to getting that promotion you have been angling for. You immediately start musing about the next one, and the added pay is some degree of comfort.

I don't think you've achieved what you're working towards. Was getting your first huge client your goal? I doubt it thus your inability to receive the satisfaction you believe you should be having. Focus on your goal. Satisfaction in a football game doesn't come between the 20's.

I own a side clothing company. I sell a lot...a whole lot. However, right now it's just work after work. The goal is to run it full time with my wife. Our current sales are just steps to the goal. The satisfaction comes when I'm able to tell my boss to go frick himself.

I believe when you first start something and it takes off slowly, its disheartening. In today's day and age, we all would like that instant gratification or feeling of "Everything is going perfect". But in essence, it takes time.

But I also think its that sense of "challenge" or "its not enough" that also causes not being happy with it. Could also be that the joy and excitement that was there initially is now gone because of all the work, stress (if any), time, and energy that you spent on it. Really just depends on what it is that youre doing or trying to do
