Middle school already had a kid driving his own car. Daily ambulances for OD's. Walls getting kicked down. Recess was for chain smoking and throwing rocks/bricks at nerds.

Well now they are all too busy trying to bang their teachers to have any real fun

I've seen kids cut like Barry Sanders playing smear the queer.

Back in the old days we called it "tackle the man with the ball".
Still remember the first time I had the wind knocked out.

The greatest invention according to my mom concerning growing boys back in the day and yes, tackle football as the biggest reason for them.

In the early 60s we had the best tackle football games in a vacant but well kept lot in the neighborhood. Some games lasted most of the day with alteriations to the teams as people were taking a break or were temporarily out of commission. There were arse busting tackles, gang tackles, targeting, etc., but we kept at it.
Very seldom was there any type of injury requiring a doctor.

Breaking a bone at school was cool and not a lawsuit. PC did not exist. Not everyone got an award at the end of the year. Winners won and losers lost.

We played kill the man with the ball. When one of us got on the ball we fought like hell to keep it.

Football on the blacktop playground every day.

games are going to turn out pretty rough...which is a good thing. Maybe you wouldn't have so many kids on meds if you let them actually be kids a little more.
No, let's not let them do anything at recess and give them pills for "ADD"
need to burn off some energy so they can sit still when they need to
Just because leftists have decided they want to ban masculinity that doesn't mean boys are going to "evolve" in a generation or two. They will just be frustrated.

Wall Ball
I was going to mention that one. Besides Smear and Rover, Wall Ball would send you home with some nasty bruises. We played with a racquetball and with kids I think eventually made the MLB

We had a version of this as well. But we called it all against one and we didn't play it (mostly) at school. Mostly we played on the levee going from top to bottom. Everybody would get at the bottom of the levee and someone would throw the ball from the top. Whoever caught it would try to make it to the top and everyone would tackle him. Then he would toss it over his shoulder back down and whoever caught it would try.
Usually took quite awhile for anyone to make it to the top. There was this one kid who would hang out on the edges and never touch the ball unless it bounced way to the side where nobody could tackle him. But of course we would tackle him anyway even if he made it to the top. Just for being like that.

We played tackle every afternoon after school. One kid had a broken arm and sawed his cast off because he couldn't carry the ball. Also, these games always ended in a fight.

I graduated high school in '07. I'm not that old. I went to a private school and they let us do whatever the hell we wanted during PE. We just voted on it. Played tackle football and dodgeball all through high school.

Had one of my front teeth knocked out in the fifth grade playing this simple game. Got me a silver tooth. Finally got a white one for a graduation present.
