This caught me by surprise too. A beautiful, warm, clear day and then out of the blue it was like a summer thunderstorm exploded

It’s from that front that went through here yesterday. It’s the back end of it. Isolated storms but they pack a punch.

If it is indeed golf ball sized hail you should take a pic of it at tweet it at NWS NOLA. That's severe hail, and there are no Severe Thunderstorm Warnings right now.
