It was a case that stunned residents in a small Oklahoma city earlier this year – a resident told police he shot and killed his neighbor to keep the man from drowning two young children.

On Thursday, a little more than a month after the shooting, officials announced that the case is closed – the Pontotoc County District Attorney ruled the shooting was a ‘justifiable use of deadly force under Oklahoma Law.’

Good for him. He's a hero IMO. Saved 2 innocent lives and eliminated a POS

Excellent to hear.
But how can one unsuccessfully attempt to drown two 3 month-olds? Seems to me that it would be pretty easy to pull off, which makes me question intent (just a little bit).

What is scary is it took over a month for the DA to reach the obviously correct conclusion.

It's because of the way the handgun law is written in the state of Oklahoma. I own some land in Pontotoc county and trust me, no way in hell charges would be filed in Ada, OK.

well they had to make sure that this dude was actually trying to drown his kids and that they didn't get into a dispute and ol boy came up with the drowning story after shooting his neighbor

As there should not be. Use of lethal force to protect life/lives is always justified, isn't it?

I wouldn't trust law enforcement in Ada after what they did to Ron Williamson.
Sorry for the thread hijack

Exactly. I'm glad they took the time to get it right (hopefully).

I love it when people have opinions on things they have no clue about.

I drive thru that town occasionally. I'm more surprised that there was a black person living there.
