Do a pearl necklace. A real pearl necklace not the OT pearl necklace.
Women won't wear the same watch for years like man. After a year, Your $1000 watch will sit in a drawer for the next 40 years.

Omega Constellation. Not sure of price nowadays. I gave my wife one about 20 years ago.

pearl necklace is the correct answer.
I got Mrs X a pearl necklace and she loves it.
you can ask her to wear just the necklace, this NY Eve.

I couldn't think of a more terrible and disappointing graduation gift than a watch, especially for a grand. Here is a pro tip, anything other than cash is second rate and quite frankly unwanted. And none of that visa gift card bullshite, straight up cash.

unless you have a suggestion on a watch, I don't really want your opinion.
Cash is not a suitable gift in this instance.

Ideally it's one set at least an hour and a half ahead

Lol I just think it's stupid people spend $5 or whatever it is to load money on a gift card instead of giving cash because it makes it look like they put effort into the gift. In the end it's just less convenient for the recipient.

How is cash never a suitable gift. Especially if she is a young graduate getting her first real job, moving out etc then cash is always the most useful gift there is.

You're making the wrong assumption that this is the only gift being given.
Perhaps cash is already being given and this person wants to give a memorable gift as well.

I've worn the same watch for over 30 years and I'm still wearing it. It's a Rolex, gift from my husband when I graduated from Nursing School. Works for me.
