Something is rotten in Denmark w/this one. Sounds like a hit:

Victims Emerson and Gina Weingart had recently married in June 2023

A newlywed couple died together when they were fatally shot inside a Wisconsin bar, authorities said

Gina Weingart, 37, and Emerson Weingart, 33, were killed inside the Sports Page Barr in Elkhorn on Thursday, according to news releases from the Elkhorn Police Department posted on Facebook on Thursday and Friday.

Per the releases, the Walworth County Sheriff's Office received a call at approximately 12:11 a.m. local time reporting shots fired and "a person down" at the establishment.

Police officers from both departments were dispatched to the scene, where they found both Emerson and Gina dead.

The shootings are still under investigation and no arrests have been made, according to authorities.

Gina worked as a part-time bartender at the Sports Page Barr, and Emerson would keep her company there when she worked late-night shifts, WAFB 9 reported.

“It’s gut-wrenching," Emerson's father, Jeff Weingart, told the local news outlet of the couple's deaths.

"Somebody saw them. Somebody saw them. I don’t care, you don’t pull something like that off. I can’t believe that it was just her and him in the bar. So somebody saw them, and somebody had to give a description of them, and somebody had to see the car when he drove away, and they better find him," he added of the suspect or suspects of the shooting.

Emerson was a department manager at a grocery store, and Gina also worked at Wisconsin Vision Associates. They loved to fish together and Emerson was an avid sports fan, while Gina enjoyed karaoke.

sounds like they were in the bar alone and it was a robbery OR it was a NOLA cop like deal where someone employed by the bar turned on them.

I've seen it a million times. That never works out.

She needs to flirt to make tips, boyfriend gets jealous. They both end up dead.

There was a time where i would say that this had to be a hit but look at the case where the girl here in BR was just sitting by the train tracks here in BR and a guy walked up and just shot her

It’s like a car warranty - 90 days or 3 BJs

That area is nice, though. Right by Geneva Lake and Lake Delavan.

You're thinking of going south from Madison and south from Milwaukee, which are kinda shitty.

Some additional information, like whether the bar was robbed, if they have security footage (what bar doesn't have cameras?), etc...would be helpful here.

Also, there had to be other people there otherwise where did the call of shots fired and person down come from?

Newly wed at their age? Sounds like a jealous ex, or the result of a very bad divorce.

Very plausible. Crime of passion is actually a good theory.

You've never heard the expression "Something's rotten in (the state of) Denmark?" It's from a Shakespeare play, not sure which one.

I had to look it up as I hadn't heard it either. I've watched the play but his plays are so wordy that sometimes I miss so much on only one watch through.

Hahahah I was thinking "man for being from Denmark, he really embraces the baw lifestyle"

99.9% chance that the killer is part of her friend’s list on Facebook but very weird for a bar to not have security cameras. Even the bars north of Hwy 29 have them installed.

What’s the definition of “newlywed”? They’d been married over half a year

June of '23? :whatyearisit?:

And who cares about this? The writer described them like this in the 1st sentence, I'm not sure they described themselves as such before they died or how that would be germane in the slightest.
