Former drug addicts that are now clean.

Typical daily status update "officially 2 months and 24 days sober! #clean #NewMe #OneDayAtATime #Happy"

Like why do they feel the need to give us daily updates on how their poor decisions have impacted their lives?

Yeah I know, I have trashy Facebook friends

You ever thought that maybe, just maybe, they seek positive reinforcement, and it helps them continue their path toward sobriety?

Not on Facebook, but after reading about some of the shite people post on there, people posting their days clean doesn't seem so bad.

You should offer them drugs in retaliation for their hashtag usage. #felloffthewagon

In order of things that bother me:

1. People who bitch about sober friends
2. Sober friends

That type of post doesn't bother me.

The religious and political zealots do a bit. Those guilt trip posts that encourage you to share a photo or story, and if you don't you must me a rotten person. frick that.

I am not particularly bothered by my friend who does this on social media. He said it is away of making himself accountable publically to everyone. If it works for him, so be it.

This. I know a few people that want the postive reinforcement and need to surround themselves in that mindset, especially early on in the process. Yes sometimes it seems over the top, but I'm not going to hate on someone trying to better themselves and hoping others that are friends with them help.

what about people that celebrate their alcoholism openly?

I don't understand why people actually use facebook if everything like this bothers them. It's social media for a reason. If you don't like it, delete it/ignore it from newsfeed.

Dumb original premise:

It's like saying which pedophile is worst.

Or, put another way-

For (allegedly) heterosexual adult males there is no worst Facebook poster, they are all tied for worst.

Facebook is generally the online equivalent of going down to the creek with your laundry and joining the other wash women in the gossip circle.

frick that.
