A new 42,000-square-foot storage facility is planned for a long vacant lot on Balis Drive directly behind the Village Square Shopping Center and Wal-Mart.

quote:

Real estate broker Jacob Richardson is developing the facility, which will have 28 units measuring 1,500 square feet each. Though the units can be used for office space, Richardson says he expects most will be leased for personal storage sites.

quote:

“There aren’t any vacancies in the existing facilities, and people need to store their stuff,” he says. “When you think about it, the new developments in the area like Rouzan have zero yards.”

Richardson plans to start construction in April and hopes to be completed by the end of the year. Units will rent for between $1,400 and $1,500 per month.

I'm going to rent one and install a ring so baws won't have to meet at Sonic anymore. $20 general admission for spectators and it includes all the Natty light you can drink.

That's why I kept my condo in BR.

I used it as a storage unit for all my furniture for the last few years and just rented out the spare bedroom.

That's about the space I had in my old office / storage unit across the street. The office, big enough for two people to work comfortably, eats up a big part of the storage area. Some tenants took two back-to-back units and combined them.

I enjoyed my time there, plus we could go out back and wave at each passing train. Simple pleasures.

What does the neighborhood think of this? Are the residents worried about a possible decline of property values?

I really enjoy that fleur de lis lattice that one house has. Huge Saints fans.

I dont think they care about property values, and they are probably pretty low to begin with just from passing by over the years.

Those are cool offices for a small business owner. Room for an office plus a warehouse for inventory, work truck and some personal toys (motorbike, 4 wheeler, boat). Wish rent was closer to $1000. I would consider it.
