If I was governor, I'd create a separate state police troop for New Orleans and hire/assign about 200 troopers to New Orleans.

Jackson, MS is almost if not as bad as NOLA. I know that just about every time I watch the news somebody has been murdered in Jackson.

ETA: Jackson was 4th in the country for murders per cappa last year or the year before last...
