State house has had an epiphany, or more likely, one of our elected officials got stuck in traffic.

About fricking time.

Although approving a study doesn't mean a whole lot.

It's just a study. Probably won't come to pass in my or your lifetime. It took over 20 years to get the gambling thing sorted out. Refer to my sig quote.

And that groups of people will be pissed off wherever you choose to build it, unless of course you situate it somewhere that it's basically of no use to anyone (ala, that Audubon Bridge deal).

They will not build another bridge, they just built one, it goes nowhere and coat almost a billion dollars. They are going to build a way to move traffic to that or the old bridge. The study is just to pay someone off.

They said they would finish the bridge as soon as the loop was done.

I don't think they need a new bridge. They need to fix that whole I-110 I-10 cluster they have that bottle necks everything. That's where you're traffic comes from.

And it's better now than it was a dozen years ago. Traffic cming off the bridge used to not have a dedicated lane. They had to merge or be forced off @ Washington St.

We just made a trip from Houston all the way to Charleston and back. I am convinced that the primary federal priority for infrastructure should be to widen I-10 to 3 lanes in each direction in its entirety. Also forbid semis in the far left lane.

Loop or not, a new bridge is needed somewhere around Plaquemine or Addis.

They will add exterior lanes to the present I-10 a la the recent Huey P. Long Bridge in Harahan, bra.

The traffic engineers at LDOTD who designed the EB flow of I-10 after it's crossing of the River in BR were afflicted with a serious case of Dumbassia.
