Yeah I saw that. This is a pretty small community, one where you pretty much know everybody..so when that happened several people were pretty upset. They were even more upset when they found out he got out on bond.

Definitely. You still live in Mt. Hermon or just from there? I have tons of family there and am there at least once a week or so. Never would've figured the OT would know about the 70450. Lol

I'm actually from, and still live in Franklinton. But my gf is from the Hermie, lol. Yeah I was just surprised that nobody on this thread had mentioned it yet. Being that it was a true story and scary as hell.

The whole series was turned into a book called "Penpals," and it's still the best one I've read both in this thread or on reddit nosleep. And it kinda sucks because reading that one first sort of spoiled me, and others just don't live up to how good it was/is. But I've still found some really good/fun stories, and most of them were linked in this thread somewhere.

The boy got the brunt of the attack as he flung himself over the girl to protect her. Both lived, but it would be over a decade before DTL was caught.
In the late 90's, I met the girlfriend while riding ATVs on Thompson Creek. I noticed a huge scar on her ankle and asked what happened - just expecting her to say "car wreck, accident when I was a kid, etc." But, when she explained what happened and how she begged DTL to just take her money and car while her boyfriend was lying on top of her gushing blood, and they only thing DTL said was "I don't want your money or car," kind of freaked me out...
