Need new elliptical

Well my smooth fitness CE I bought 10 years ago on Craigslist is finally more trouble than it is worth. We use it about 8-10 times a week and the plastic pedals on the thing now requiring changing for the 3rd time.

Smooth charges about 75 dollars for the pedals, but they just keep breaking.

So now we are in the market for something else. New is an option, but quality ellipticals like a precor you get at the gym can easily run 5k.

Anyone have any suggestions? Would like to spend less than 2k, but will stretch if I must. Also hopefully somewhere where they will assemble it. I reassembled the smooth and I swore I would never do that again.
