Tough to find. You'll find interesting subjects, but no one has the Mic presence Carlin has

Agreed. I've tried a bunch of them but none of them keep me coming back like HH. Hell, I paid like $60 to get the archived episodes.

History on Fire

It's no Hardcore History, but it's decent. The podcaster is a history professor, so it's a bit like a lecture but still interesting.

I really liked his series on the Renaissance painter Caravaggio.

Checkout The Dollop, it's a group of comedians that cover obscure but interesting events in history. It gets a little cheesy at times but it's pretty solid as far as subject matter goes

History of Rome. You will enjoy it.

Same guy is doing a Revolutions podcast now. It deals with various revolutions (English, French, Haitian, Spanish America, etc)

I've been doing Revolutions the last week and it's pretty good. He does it in a season format so there are like 20 or so 20-30 minute episodes that deal with a particular revolution (except the French, they have like 50 episodes)

Malcolm Gladwell's Revisionist History is an excellent and widely-admired history pod.
