I searched OB and here. What are thoughts on this? Posted here b/c it's a crime, not about hunting, and dude was a tard for doing this. But, it doesn't bother me. Without weapons I feel like a deer is fair game to take down. He was obviously gonna eat the fricker.
Natchez Man Cited for Drowning Deer.

quote:

says 40-year-old David Hayes, of Natchez, Mississippi, was cited for not possessing non-resident basic hunting and big game hunting licenses, failing to comply with deer tagging requirements, hunting from a moving vessel and taking deer from a vessel while the deer was swimming.

I mean if he had tackled it and dragged it into the lake I would give him props, but what he did is no different than spot lighting. He'll learn.

The only reason I would have a problem with this citing is if for some reason the citing causes the delicious meat not to be processed.

But yeah, dude deserves to be fined or whatever.

I posted this on the OB too, but I have no problems with this if he legally tags the animal.

Pay 2 grand to replace the deer? Seems like a racket by the government.

If you look around at some other articles about it, it appears he saw the deer swimming and THEN hopped in a boat to go get it. Someone saw him do it and called the LDWF po-po.

Yea I don't think hunters will be happy with this method of hunting. Anyone know what drowning would do to the meat? Would adrenaline dump make it tough and gamey? I don't know. I've eaten a lot of deer and know a LOT of hunters but I have never kilt one.
