Tour where many artists recorded songs and is still used today.

Elvis recorded a bunch there and his stories were the best, IMO.

We saw Reba getting out of her vehicle next door (her own studio).

I thought the jack Daniels distillery tour in Lynchburg was really cool. Just sitting in bars on Broadway is cool if you like country music. Fun place. They also have the Barret factory near there if you want to shoot a 50 cal.

Also checkout Centennial Park( it's where the Parthenon is located)

The Nashville Zoo( not sure about hours in December )
Belle Meade Plantation
The Frist Art Museum(also in downtown)
Fort Nashborough is right on the river downtown.
Adventure Science Center( great for Kids)
You can also see if there's anything happening at the Symphony while you're there.

Predator's games are a good time and you can get relatively cheap tickets on stub hub. Also, the Nissan plant is in Smyrna, TN. (about an hour from Nashville)If you haven't been, it's pretty neat.

If you want to be downtown and near Broadway, the Hilton or Omni are my two hotel recommendations.

The Gaylord is impressive, especially around Christmas time. Have a nice mall and movie theater right next door for when you need a break from hotel.

If you are going in December be sure to at least vist the Opry Hotel!!! The Christmas lights are amazing and definitely go to a Preds game! They are currently the best team in the NHL right now

I would recommend it in a heartbeat. Get a room downtown.......stagger from bar to bar for the next two days. Also, great food as well. You wouldn't even have to get in a car. Also, strip clubs downtown as well.

Hit up East Nashville. Where all the real stuff is now.

Burgers and beer at Pharmacy Burger. It has a really cool beer garden in the back. Tacos from Mas Tacos. Coffee from Barista Parlor. Go check out the record store part of Jack White's Third Man Records. And I agree with the poster who mentioned checking for live shows at Cannery Ballroom and Mercy Lounge. Stay away from Broadway. It's Bourbon Street with a fake country flair.

I disagree with this strongly. It is clean and fun as hell. Whether you like country music or not, if you can't let loose and have a good time on Broadway, then there's something wrong with you.

It's not all country either. You can also hear funk/ blues and R&B right off of Broadway. That and there are tons of other things in the area and you won't have to drive to them.

Like I said, STAY DOWNTOWN!

I agree with pretty much everyone else here in that you should stay downtown, that way you can basically walk everywhere...there are a good number of hotels in that area ranging from very nice to very affordable...just stick with one of the brand names like hampton, hilton, doubletree, etc. and you can hardly go wrong...

one place that I find to be just cool as hell is puckett's grocery...I never miss going there when I am in the area on business....

also, once I took a dinner cruise on a riverboat, which turned out to be a very cool way to kill an evening...though, it may be too cold in December...
