So, we can see tiny arse little Pluto waaayyyyy the frick out there...but can’t see, and have never seen, a planet 10 times the size of earth? Sure.

Pluto is an icy planet and this reflective, making it easier to see, plus its orbits causes it to pass in front of Pluto for a period of years.
Planet X is likely rock and dark. To see it would mean catching its transit in front of a star.
