Warning this post may be a tad gross.

Is there anything other than taking antibiotics that can make this go away? I don't really have time to go to urgent care right now and was wondering if anyone had any helpful home remedies to hold me over? I have a horrible headache from the pressure and every time I blow my nose it's bloody. Sorry this is disgusting but it's extremely distracting when I'm trying to concentrate at work. Worst case scenario I will leave early tonight and go to urgent care.

boil a pot of water and put a towel over your head directly over the pot.

breathe in the steam. it will help break up all that crap up there.

Maybe go buy a neti pot and help clear out your sinuses. Also, whenever I'm feeling a cold or something coming on, I eat as much hot soup as possible like pho or chicken noodle (not a an old wife's tale- chicken noodle has actually been demonstrated to relieve colds). Don't waste your time with Emergenc C or whatever it's called.

There's also this nasal blaster thing you can buy at Walgreens alongside Neti Pots where you full it with warm water and saline, insert it up nostril, and squeeze, and it blasts the frick out of your sinuses (warning, it will be nasty coming out).

Over time the antibiotics stop working. When I get one I have to get the shots.

NETI POT with warm distilled water. They come with sale packets. Like a miracle to open up the airways! Cost about $10..

I'm on my second course of antibiotics. It was starting to turn into bronchitis.

You really should get some antibiotics ASAP.

There is an over the counter nasal spray called Nasalcrom. It works well without all the horrible side effects.

If you use a neti pot (sinus wash) once you have an infection, you risk spreading it even more.

Good luck

Sudafed, water, saline rinses/neti pot rinses, and go to the damn urgent care and get some amoxicillin or a zpack.

I used to have these all the time until I started taking a zyrtec once a day.

Neti pots and the like are good, but be very cautious using them. You can inflame the sinus lining and you'll feel even worse because your sinuses will close up and you can't breathe.
