Milk men still exist in colder climates, just not in Louisiana or most of the South. The milk would curdle on the stoop before anyone ever got a chance to drink it.

We used to get it twice a week growing up, until the early 90s in Baton Rouge. It was always there before we left for school.

We used to get it delivered in New Orleans in the 70s. It drove our dog nuts when the milkman would put the bottles down with a "clink" by the back door.

This is still a thing? The frick?

News to me. I'd assume the customers would be so spread out in most places that it wouldn't be cost effective for either party.

So a milkman delivers them milk? I think the answer to whether or not this is still a thing is yes.. Because your new neighbors get it delivered to them.

My mom and dad got milk delivered. The milk man would bring it in and put in the fridge, leave the bill on the counter and lock the door when he left.

My Dad's cousin had a dairy over on 21st St in Gretna...he delivered to us for years, either in quarts or half gallon bottles...

Are your new neighbors hipsters? Serious question. I could picture the guys with beards, fade haircuts, and whiskey-drinking hobbies getting into something like this.

hope they're not violating a state law that prohibits unpasteurized milk being sold (or something to that effect) ... probably is the best milk they've ever had ...

Grew up near Pittsburgh, most houses had one of these on the porch.

Yeah we use Royal Crest Dairy...pretty good stuff and they have a lot of things you can get from them. Pretty cool. I didn't know it was still going on until we moved up here.

Where is the guy that came to TD to promote his new milk delivery business in Lafayette? He was adamant that it was going to be a great money maker.
