Just asking for some prayers that she's comfortable and doesn't suffer. They did a procedure on her last week to unclog her colon and she's taken a turn for the worse. She's 86 and was my favorite grandparent! She would always take me to the casino with my grandfather and we would have a GREAT time! I went to Vegas a couple years ago and EVERYTIME I've talked to her since she asks me to give her a replay about how I won at the slots and blackjack table ( she would always rather me win at the casino than her). I talked to her last week before her procedure and she said, " you better come pick me up so we can go to Vegas!" She's the last grandparent I have alive.

Prayers sent. Sorry to hear. It won't be long now but the pain should be subdued.

Sorry about that. Spend time with her if you're able to and she feels up to it. I lost my last remaining grandparent 18 years ago. I think about them every day. Every single day.

Sorry to hear that. Gotta be seriously sad when the day arrives to lose your last grandparent.

At 29 I still have both maternal grandparents but I know the day is not far that I will be grandparent-less. Good memories.

Sounds like me and my grandmother. She took me to the casino on my 21st birthday a few years ago. Me and her would make trips every now and then. She passed away 3 months ago and was also my last grandparent alive. It's going to suck going back home to Biloxi this summer and not being able to visit her constantly like I'm accustomed to doing. That woman was my heart. Prayers to you and yours

How do you conclude this? Much less expensive than a person staying in the hospital. Insurance or Medicare picks up the cost.

Prayers to you and your family. Hospice does spare some unnecessary suffering at the end. I was at my father's side when he passed in hospice facility. But if I live to be a hundred don't think I can ever have as sick a feeling to the core as that wheelchair van ride with my son from his home to hospice care when my son needed it..

Yeah, Lester doesn't know what he's talking about this one, apparently. When my mom was in the hospice, it was the most wallet friendly option.

God damn, now I'm sad again.

Prayers sent.

Hospice does help everyone. It is a wonderful service and they have some wonderful people who work for hospice. I would much rather spend my last days on earth in my home rather than some random hospital room.

This is bringing back some tearful memories.

Prayers sent for you.
