The amount of cheating that goes on in fishing tourneys blows my mind.

Why doesn't someone catch a fish, take it home, raise it to be a giant and just act like they caught it that day?

Happens all the time. That's why they check competitor's boats so thoroughly at the boat ramp.

Cheaters get around that by building pens out on the lake the tournament is held and put giant fish in there a day or two prior.

I thought in fishing tournaments you had to turn the fish in alive?

I saw a longer version of the vid that showed more of the weigh in process.

The cheaters were the last to be weighed. The highest weight at that point was 18lbs. These dudes weighed in at 33 lbs just egregious.

No doubt they’d been cheating for a while and flew too close to the sun.

I know nothing about fishing tournaments,, But from what I am reading here today is that there is a lot of cheating.. Wouldn't you think they would have metal detectors by now? How else could they make the fish weigh more?

A number of years back, couple old boys went into Florida and caught a bunch of big fat bass, kept them alive, brought them back and set them out for a mid level bass tourney on the local lake. At weigh in, which they would have won easily, someone noticed that species of bass wasn’t from this lake. Guess they really wanted that bass boat first prize, but all they got was banned. Humans smh

Obviously don’t cheat, but if you did, and caught in that situation, how would y’all react? Holy shite I’d feel ridiculous. I feel like I’d resort to throwing punches and then getting killed

Not sure why the cheating baw kept hanging around like that with the crowd growing angrier and angrier. Should've cut his losses and ducked out when it was apparent he was caught.

Read an article about a guy that tied a big fish or two to a stump a few days before a tournament and then “caught” them during the tournament. Don’t remember how he got caught though. The cheating seems rampant.

Wouldn't it be pretty easy to stop this? I mean, wouldn't a simple handheld metal detector wand waved over each fish turned in be a solution?

That was my initial thought as well

Those weights are absurdly large to be doing this with them. I mean how stupid are these baws

These guys apparently had been racking up tournament wins left and right there and are probably looking at some decent jail time now with how much money they've won

Freakin idiots

Yea more I think about it if I’m in cheater’s shoes there I’m knocking somebody out. If I’m a go down that bad there’s at least gonna be a highlight on my end.

I'm pretty sure that's a felony in Louisiana.
